ESTATE HET BUITENLAND

Bergarde Galleries is located at Estate Het Buitenland. Opened in the autumn of 2014 this polder land is now accessible for the public. Walking is possible on the paved and unpaved paths. You can visit the estate (daily) for free between sunrise and sunset.

Het Buitenland

Untill the flood of 1953 the polder was situated outside the dikes and was kind of abroad (translated ‘Het Buitenland’ means abroad). The estate is based on historical maps and has an open character formed by water, bridges and reed land. Walking is possible on the paved and unpaved paths. You can visit the estate (daily) for free between sunrise and sunset.

Art at the estate

At the estate several works of art are on display. A blue sculpture by Marijke de Goey welcomes visitors at the gallery's entrance. Near the collection building bronze sculptures by Ad Timmermans are erected and in the polders one can find the nine 'ruiters' of the Orion-project.
