Over Shinkichi Tajiri

Sculptor Shinkichi Tajiri was born in Los Angeles as the son of Japanese immigrants. Because of the inferior position of Japanese immigrants in America, Tajiri left for Europe in 1948. In Paris het was a student of Ossip Zadkine and Fernand Léger and he was trained at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. Love brought his to The Netherlands, where he lived and worked until his death in 2009.
