Angelique van der Valk Off Road (2019)

> Land art Playground (estate)

To create a liveable earth for the next generations, there is a tendency to opt for sustainable materials more often. The stepping stones along the path were made by the Barendrecht artist Van der Valk (Leiden, 1971) from shredded vegetable material such as reed, grasses and pruning waste. Part of it comes from the estate and was mixed with natural limestone: an ancient strong and natural raw material. Green soil was added as a natural pigment. The round tiles form a new path outside the already existing, paved road that winds towards the bridge. Do you follow the safety of the waste or do you choose to make a leap?
