Christo Package on a Table (1988)

On view in the Bergarde Stable

Wrapped buildings, bridges and fountains are unmistakably connected to Christo’s oeuvre. With the act of wraping, the architecture transforms into an abstract shape.

It was important to the creative couple (that was married as well) that their work was accessible to a wide audience. This explains why they mostly worked in public spaces. The large projectes were financed with the sale of drawings and designs, such as the works in the Bergarde collection.
